Popmuseum… Der Titel „If you see kay“ ist eine Zeile aus dem Buch von James Joyce „Ulysses“. …

Diesen obszönen Gag haben vor „The Script“ schon Britney Spears und andere angewandt:

Spears reprimanded for playground pun

— „Britney Spears was forced to return to the studio last week to rerecord a song from her new album after some radio stations banned the track for a coded obscene message, said the London Sun. The chorus to ‚If You Seek Amy‘ contains the lines, ‚All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin‘ to, if you seek Amy.‘ The last four words serve as a pun on the spelling of a common obscenity, and it dates back at least to James Joyce’s Ulysses, which includes a poem with the lines ‚If you see kay/Tell him he may.‘ In the new version of the song, Spears sings, ‚If you see Amy.'“

In der deutschen Übersetzung singen Joyces Prison Gate Girls natürlich ein anderes Liedchen (S.663).
