Friedhelm Rathjen hat ein „James Joyce“-Lied von einer Band ausgegraben, deren Name zudem auf Joyces „Ulysses“ anspielt.

Friedhelm Rathjen: if you happen to be into Joyce or if you happen to be into pop music or if unbelievably you happen to be into both, here’s something you should know:

Do you remember that just before the „Penelope“ episode of Ulysses begins, Molly is „in the attitude of Gea-Tellus, fulfilled, recumbent, big with seed“? Well, there’s a Pittsburgh band which calls itself „Big With Seed“. Coincidence? I think not. One of their songs is entitled „James Joyce“. If you don’t believe it click http://www.bigwithseed.com/pages/music.shtml and listen to that song. And if this is not enough for you, check out http://www.archive.org/details/bws2006-07-21 where you can find (and download) „Big With Seed Live at Sunshine Daydream Music Park on 2006-07-21“

Das Lied „James Joyce“, das unter den obigen Links zu hören und kostenlos downzuloaden ist, enthält unter anderem die folgende Zeile: „… You read James James Joyce, could drive a Rolls Royce …“ ;-)
