David Berman, founder of that great American, rotating super-group the Silver Jews posted a detailed communiquŽ on Drag City’s bulletin board recently, spilling info on the band’s new album, currently titled Tanglewood Numbers and its ridiculous line-up of musicians. The album– which Berman says will be completed February 24 (with a July release)– features the return of Stephen Malkmus into the fold. Joining in the fun are such notables as Will Oldham(!), Mike Fellows, Brian Kotzur, Bob Nastanovich, Bobby Bare Jr., Steve West, Duane Denison, Azita Youseffi, Pete Cummings, Tony Crow, Paz Lenchatain, and J.D. Wilkes.
Whew.
Without going so far as to divulge an official tracklisting, Berman posted the working song titles for Tanglewood Numbers. So, in that spirit, here are the tracks, in the order he listed them:

13 Region TenRegarding the growing speculation that Tanglewood Numbers will be the Silver Jews‘ swan song, Berman wrote, „is it the last silver jews album? Impossible! as long as two of us walk the earth the band is still together. and, as always, thanks to you that give a damn about what we do.“
