Zu „Free As a Bird“:
Ja, genau, in erster Linie klingt Lennons Stimme anders. Aber im Vergleich zur Single von 1995 gibt es doch noch ein paar mehr Unterschiede. Bereits 2015 zur Veröffentlichung von „1+“ wurde ein Remix erstellt. Einige Gitarren Parts von George Harrison wurden damals verändert, im Vergleich hört man das recht deutlich, außerdem wurde eine alternative Zeile seiner Gesangseinspielungen verwendet (urprünglich: „whatever happened to the life that we once knew“ bei den Remixes von 2015 und 2025: „whatever happened to the love that we once knew“). Pauls Stimme ist in der zweiten Strophe etwas lauter. Diese Veränderungen wurden für den neuen Remix beibehalten. Beim Original hört man am Ende John, wie er rückwärts „turned out nice again“ sagt, beim Remix werden die Worte vorwärts abgespielt und beim neuen Mix aus diesem Jahr vorwärts und rückwärts. Und die Drums sind einen Tick leiser (und ich glaube Pauls akustische Gitarre etwas lauter, bin mir aber nicht sicher).
Mal abwarten, wie der neue Remix von „Real Love“ klingt.
Zu den unterschieden der Archivaufnahmen auf Anthology 1, 2 und 3 in der neuen Auflage gibt es im shmf eine schöne Zusammenfassung, die ich hier mal zitiere:
