BellamyHat er das? Woher hast du das? Also ich kenn da bisher nur ‚Come Together‘.

Strawberry Fields Forever war für DECADE geplant, das aber leider nie erschien. Stattdessen kam dann DANGEROUS. Allerdings ohne Strawberry Fields Forever, weil Michael Jackson ein komplett neues Album wollte und kein Best of.

Strawberry Fields Forever (1966) (John Lennon, Paul McCartney)
Michael Jackson
Cover Version of a hit by The Beatles

(_:__) „Decade 1979-1989“
(Compilation Test Pressing, 2x 33⅓ rpm LP, 1989)

Das Anderssein von Jackson und Lennon ist eine Parallele, wie bei Lennons Beschreibung des Songs klar wird:

„I was different all my life. The second verse goes, ‚No one I think is in my tree.‘ Well, I was too shy and self-doubting. Nobody seems to be as hip as me is what I was saying. Therefore, I must be crazy or a genius—’I mean it must be high or low‘ „,[19] and explaining that the song was „psycho-analysis set to music“.[15]

Paranoia und Selbstzweifel, die konkret Bezug auf die Anfänge der Jackson 5 nehmen, findet man in Jacksons Texten schon 1980:

Live in sin
Ten years ago on this day my heart was yearning
I promise I would never ever be returning

Where my baby broke my heart and left me yearning
As we walked to the room, there were faces starring
Glaring, tearing through me
Someone said welcome to your doom
Then they smiled with eyes that looked as if they knew me
This is scarring me
