Vernon Kay welcomes the man known as “The Modfather”, and one of the most revered writers and performers of the past five decades.
All this week, Paul Weller will share with us his favourite song choices in Tracks Of My Years.

From starting out as frontman of the influential bands The Jam and The Style Council, Paul then kickstarted a successful solo career
in the early 90s and is now rightly hailed as one of the most influential and inventive figures in modern British music.

Paul has just released “66” his seventeenth solo album which was recorded across 3 years in his Black Barn Studio featuring various
members of his family and released earlier in the summer to huge acclaim. BUT he has recorded 28 albums all together if you include
his work with The Jam and The Style Council and we’ll hear all about them during the show.

Following his recent UK dates, he’s off on his first North American tour in seven years in September, as well as another UK run in
October and November.

His first pick is wishful thinking it’s Martha and The Vandellas and “Heat Wave”!

Tracklist:

01 – Martha Reeves and the Vandellas – Heat Wave
02 – Little Richard – Good Golly Miss Molly
03 – The Kinks – Dead End Street
04 – The Beatles – Strawberry Fields Forever
05 – Fairport Convention – Who Knows Where The Time Goes?
06 – The Upsetters – Dollar In The Teeth
07 – The Supremes – Stoned Love
08 – Gwen McCrae – Rockin‘ Chair
09 – Chic – Hangin‘
10 – Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – Dead To The World
