Artie Shaws Big Band war sowas wie die Hochglanz- und Hollywoodausgabe des Swing. Wobei er ausgerechnet das Showbusiness verabscheute, was wohl auch zu seinem Rückzug führte.
Mit kleineren Bands konnte er offenbar mehr experimentieren. Ich hatte eine Aufnahme von Scuttlebutt von Artie Shaw And His Gramercy Five gepostet. „Scuttlebutt“ heißt auf Deutsch „Klatsch“. Edit: Oder „Gerücht“ oder „Getratsche“.
