In der Besetzung mit Moody, Marsden, Murray, Lord und Paice waren sie für mich würdige Nachfolger von Free und Bad Company. Später mit Leuten wie Powell, Sarzo, Sykes oder Vandenberg wollte Coverdale dann offensichtlich der neue Robert Plant werden. Fand ich nicht mehr ganz so prickelnd trotz einiger wirklich feiner Tracks wie „Still of the night“. So sind hier auch bei Songs wie „Here I go again“, „Crying in the rain“ oder „Fool for your loving“ ausdrücklich die frühen Tracks bis zum Album „Saints & sinners“ gemeint und nicht die aufgemotzten späteren Versionen.
