St. Vincent – Daddy’s Home
Neues Album und wieder klingt alles ganz alles als vorher. Diesmal ein wenig nach 70er. Ich zitiere mal MOJO: „full conceptual realisation, filled with great melodies, deep grooves, colourful characterisations and sonic detail that reveals itself over repeated plays„.
Und The Line of Best Fit: It sounds like gold, dripping in thick gelatinous ropes from heaven, covering all and sundry in glamorous funk, sticky soul and fiery rock and roll. It sounds like a pool built into the floor of a penthouse suite with pelicans flying on the television. It sounds decadent, indulgent, and unashamedly retro. Where Clark’s made great use of vintage sounds in the past, this is her first album that dives in at the deep end and swims around in an endless glistening pool of nostalgia.

But these don’t sound like lovingly crafted homages to the past. They seem more like parodies, of varying degrees of knowing grotesqueness.

Bestes St. Vincet Album so far for me. And for you?
Und wer hört Pink Floyd raus?

Behauptet halt überall die Presse. Auch in Deutschland. Auch Bowie wird erwähnt. Ich kann noch nichts Richtiges dazu sagen. Noch mal in aller Ruhe intensiv hören. Mich interessiert das Album schon sehr.
