thelonicaAFRS Broadcast #263 ist ein Memorial an Jimmie Lunceford und sein Orchester, moderiert von George Dvorak und entstanden im Oktober 1947 bei NBC mit Material aus älteren Jubilee Sendungen. Gesendet wurde es wahrscheinlich erst im Februar 1948.
genau, hier ist mein Lunceford beu Jubilee Cheatsheet… * heisst, dass man es auf dieser Radioseite bekommt, Tracklists sind nur teilweise zur Orientierung… Ausgaben 49, 123, 213 und 263 haben kein neues Material … Allerdings ist 263 trotzdem interessant, weil da ein paar Tracks aus ansonsten verlorenen Episoden drin sind… Daten sind jeweils die (vermutlichen) Daten der Ausstrahlung, wann aufgenommen wurde, ist nicht so klar… Die Kirtland Bradford Highlights sind seine Balladenfeatures (Alone Together, Meditation, The Jimmies), aber er hat ein paar schoene Soli auf schnelleren Tracks hier und da… die Tracks von 144 kann man wie gesagt auf dieser CD hoeren, auf Spotify, via Jazz Anthology…
