David Toop hat vorhin auf FB eine schöne Erinnerung an seine letzte zufällige Begegnung mit Kondo gepostet:

Sad to hear of the death of Toshinori Kondo, aged only 71. Playing with him was always exciting and a huge amount of fun. We were hooligans together with Charlie Morrow and Tristan Honsinger in Company Week 1981, then a quartet of hooligans with Steve Beresford and Tristan for the Imitation of Life LP. He also played on three tracks from my Spirit World LP in 1997, arriving off the train from Amsterdam at around 11.00 in the morning, then playing like a demon all day. I remember him staying at my house and playing Miles Davis‘ Dark Magus quite loud at 6.00am! The last time I saw him was on Eurostar. We were both travelling to Ghent for different reasons and I came across him and Brotzmann, fast asleep sitting together like a couple of big babies. A fantastic player and wonderful human being.
