Billie Eilish and her mom, Maggie Baird, are helping donate food to those in need amid the Coronavirus pandemic. Maggie Zoomed with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Monday, April 13, and also helped surprise a Billie Eilish fan and listener for her birthday!
Maggie shared with Seacrest they created Support + Feed to help support small businesses, like their favorite plant-based eateries.
“We’d just gotten home from tour about five days before and I was thinking ‚Gosh, this is going to hurt so many businesses,’” Maggie shared. “I wish I could order food from every plant-based restaurant or our favorite vegan restaurants in town, but we can’t eat it [all]. But, wait, we could send that food to people who need it like homeless shelters, women’s shelters; how about doctors on the frontline? So we ordered some food and we tried it ourselves and realized it’s a great idea but it needed some work so we formed this organization to do exactly that called Support + Feed.”
The food, Maggie explained, “ends up with doctors and nurses, hospital workers on the frontlines, homeless shelters, women’s shelters, food pantries,” and more. To help donate a meal, all you have to do is go to http://www.supportandfeed.com and pick any restaurant.
