Ein exzellentes Album von 1983 (rec. 1977, Jones‘ letztes) mit „Papa“ Jo Jones am Schlagzeug, Hank Jones am Klavier, Major Holley am Bass und dem obskuren aber sehr guten Jimmy Oliver am Tenorsaxophon.

A saxophone player in Philly who I just called yesterday, his birthday was the 29th, his name is Jimmy Oliver. He was seventy-nine. He’s a year younger than Percy. I remember Jimmy Oliver told Trane, „Man, you ain’t supposed to play all night. You’re messing up the saxophone.“ And we all used to look up to Jimmy Oliver as the leader in Philadelphia. Before me and Trane and Benny could play anything, Jimmy Oliver was the cat. He said Trane was messing up the saxophone.
