here’s my take on the unreleased songs on the highlights LP:
Shine On (Knebworth) – very good performance and mix. Crystal clear guitar in the beginning, really cool 8/10
Marooned jam – hmm, to be honest, bit disappointed. The jam is good, but the track fades in/out and it just seems a bit out of place. There’s a saying in my country that goes „he came in muted and left in silence“. This is how I feel about this track. The jam available in the Tree of Secrets bootleg is way more interesting. 6/10
Lost for Words – incredible!!!! 10/10
Us and Them (DSOT) – nice intro, good mix. powerful backing vocal during chorus. excellent version 10/10
CNumb (Knebworth) – nice mix, although I believe David’s guitar should be louder…however…. the final solo is cut short in a very weird way, I absolutely hated it. They cut off the best part, imo. Very weird decision! Big disappointment…. 3/10
Learning to Fly (DSOT) – 5/10 gary wallis’ drums are very dry and the overall mix seems weaker, not as epic as in the original album. Middle section was also shortened, weird decision. Tim renwick’s guitar toned down in the middle section as well. Just sounded a bit weird.
OOTA (remix) – new vocals (?) and drums are very different. Rick’s hammond way more prominent. Interesting mix, however the original version is more powerful, imo 7/10
As a huge floyd fan, I’m kind of worried about the new DSOT and these shortened cuts. There’s simply no reason for this new edit of CNumb. What were they thinking?

C Numb ist aber 1A Pfusch!.(das Solo ist anfängermäßig Geschnitten!)….kann mir nicht vorstellen dass das so bleibt auf der Box.Kann ich nicht glauben, das Stück hat auf meiner alten Kassette den Zeiteintrag von 8:06 einschließlich Applaus, dann muss es schon damals geschnitten gewesen sein. Entweder ist es nicht geschnitten oder wurde schon vor langer Zeit verhunzt.
Ja….wurde schon vorher geschnitten.
Und spiel hier nicht die beleidigte Leberwurst.
Findest doch die Box auch gut aber schreibst hier nichts.
