Das war genau der Grund, weshalb ich sechs lange Jahre lang die Tanzfläche der Indie-Disco verlassen habe, wenn die ersten Takte von Songs der Smiths oder Morrissey ertönten – weil ich damals meinte, er trage zu dick auf. (Den Sarkasmus/Zynismus/die Ironie verstand ich offenbar nicht.)
„My love, I’d do anything for you“ meint er im Sinne von „To get back my youth I would do anything in the world, except take exercise, get up early, or be respectable“, oder?
„We all go our own ways / Separately in the same direction“ ist schön.
@mozza „And if it breaks your legs then don’t come running to me“ ist klasse, ja. Die Zeile hatte Declan bestimmt im Kopf, als er „If you can’t walk, then run“ schrieb.
