Auf einem Segelboot war ihm der poetische Auftakt zum sechsten Silver Apples-Album gekommen, erklärte Simeon in einem Interview zur ersten Veröffentlichung nach neunzehnjähriger Pause.
Der Wellengang?
Neptune’s metronome,
Relentless heartbeat of the sea.
Der Wind?
Aphrodite’s violin.
Die Sterne?
Forever guardians of the sky.
One dream is over, another one begins.
Der Yeats’sche Name Silver Apples verpflichtet schließlich.
Die Idee unter seinem Namen einen Animations-Film über Vampire zu erstellen und zu veröffentlichen war bei den Plattenfirmen/Vertrieben/Geldgebern durchgefallen. Übrig blieben die Songs, die, so befand er, stark genug waren um für sich alleine zu stehen und in etwas neues überführt zu werden. Ein Album zum Beispiel. Et voilà.
