Da vermag ich nicht zuzustimmen: Mir gefallen „Flesh + blood“ und vor allem „Avalon“ deutlich besser.
***1/2, keine Platzierung bei mir.

in der summe 4,5* von mir, das gesamtfeeling der platte stimmt, hat aber auch seine momente, in denen die atmosphärische dichte etwas durchhängt oder in schwierige abgründe stürzt.

anmerkungen:
– die spleenige instrumentierung verbunden mit dem tanzbaren rhythmus einiger stücke fühlt sich manchmal seltsam an
– für mich die nachdenklichste und abgründigste roxy-platte, gerade durch die euphorischen momente „all i want is you“ und „prarie rose“

bezugnehmend auf oben:
siren zählt für mich noch zu den klassischen roxy-alben und ist eine ganz hervorragende platte, ebenso das live-erlebnis „viva!“. manifesto halte ich für substanz- und ideenlos, flesh and blood hat eine wunderbare, leicht plastikartige traumschiff-schwüle, und avalon ist über jeden zweifel erhaben. dort übrigens der most underrated roxy track of all times: take a chance with me.
