Das angekündigte Turnier auf der Suche nach dem beliebtesten David Bowie-Track steht fast schon in den Startlöchern. Ich habe eine relativ weit gehaltene Vorauswahl getroffen. Dabei habe ich hereingenommen alle Alben-Tracks, Non-Album-Singles, B-Sides, Bonus-Tracks, Tracks von Reissues, Tracks aus Compilations, Tracks aus Soundtracks und auch einige bekannte Single-Kollaborationen wie z.B. „Under pressure“ oder „Dancing in the street“. Herausgelassen habe ich Tracks, wo der Name David Bowie nicht erscheint, wie z.B. seine Zusammenarbeit in der Band „Tin Machine“ oder aber auch Tracks, die ausschließlich auf Live-Veröffentlichungen erschienen sind.
So sind es dann insgesamt 379 Tracks geworden, die ins Rennen gehen. Ich hoffe, ihr seid mit der Vorauswahl so zufrieden. Anything missing? Wenn es so okay ist, werde ich Anfang der Woche, nachdem ich mir Gedanken über den Turniermodus gemacht habe, mit dem Turnier starten.
Wenn dann das Turnier dann vorbei ist, möchte ich im Anschluss noch eine zeitlich begrenzte Umfrage nach den 30 beliebtesten Bowie-Tracks anschließen, da es ja beim Turniermodus (leider) schnell dazu kommt, dass auch mal aufgrund einer unglücklichen Auslosung sehr beliebte Tracks früh aus dem Rennen sind.

Da war ich mir nicht schlüssig, zumal das ja auch noch auf andere Songs zutrifft, z.B. „Absolute beginners“.
Aber wenn das so gewünscht ist, machen wir das so. Ich würde die hier gemachten Vorschläge dann noch bis morgen Abend aufnehmen und am Montag oder Dienstag dann das Turnier mit der ersten Vorrunde starten.--

Die beiden Versionen von „Cat People“ (Soundtrack / Let’s Dance Album) unterscheiden sich ja ebenfalls gravierend, ebenso „Sue (Or in a season of crime)“, aber ich glaube, dass sich das zu sehr ausweitet, oder?

Warten wir mal ab. Wenn es der Wunsch ist, 4 Songs in verschiedenen Versionen aufzunehmen, wäre das noch überschaubar. Wenn es allerdings nachher deutlich mehr differierende Versionen sind, fände ich das nicht optimal.

Die verschiedenen Versionen gleicher Songs könnten ja gleich in der ersten Runde gegeneinander antreten. Dann würde die „beliebtere“ Version den weiteren Verlauf des Turniers bestreiten.--
Also bei Cat people und Sue macht das schon einen extremen Unterschied in der Bewertung. Da sollte man unbedingt beide Versionen berücksichtigen.

Da würde es mir sehr leicht fallen mich auf die englischsprachigen Versionen zu beschränken.

Staring at a grey sky, try to paint it blue - Teenage BlueDa hier jetzt heute keine weiteren Änderungsvorschläge gekommen sind, habe ich die Songs „Absolute beginners“, „Cat people“, „Hallo spaceboy“ sowie „Sue“ in 2 Versionen (Single- und Album-bzw.Soundtrack-Version) in die Auswahl genommen. Dadurch sind wir jetzt bei 379 Tracks, die ins Rennen gehen werden. Ansonsten habe ich es bei den englischsprachigen Versionen belassen und keine anderssprachigen Versionen verschiedener Tracks aufgenommen. Ich glaube letztlich auch, dass diese im weiteren Verlauf des Turniers keine Chance hätten.
Zum Modus: Bei 379 Tracks werde ich mit zwei umfangreichen Vorrunden beginnen, die dann das Feld der verbliebenen Tracks auf 64 reduzieren werden, so dass es dann in Einzelduellen in 6 weiteren Runden bis zum Finale gehen wird. In der ersten Vorrunde werde ich 20 Gruppen bilden (19 x 19 Tracks und 1 x 18 Tracks). Hier werden jeweils die 10 Tracks mit den meisten Stimmen weiterkommen. Die verbleibenden 200 Tracks werden dann in 20 Gruppen à 10 Tracks antreten, wobei dort dann die 3 Tracks mit den meisten Stimmen und die 4 Tracks mit der höchsten Stimmanzahl in die dritte Runde gehen. Bei Stimmgleichheit entscheidet immer das Los.
Morgen oder übermorgen werden die Spiele beginnen.
