Ein so melancholischer wie schöner Song von Andy Irvine – „a song in search of time past“. Planxty haben ihn für ihr erstes Album aufgenommen. Niamh Parsons innige Version auf ihrem Album Heart’s Desire wird dem Song vollauf gerecht, ist mindestens so gut wie das Original – ein Meisterstück!

Ich nehme mal wieder „The West Coast of Clare“ als SdT (wie schon am 18.07.16), einen der schönsten Songs von Andy Irvine, denn Dervish haben ihn jetzt neu aufgenommen, für ihr The Great Irish Songbook-Projekt, bei dem sie mit zahlreichen Gast-Stars irische Song-Klassiker interpretieren (das Album kommt im April). Hier ist David Gray an der Reihe (Gesang und Klavier). Diese Version kommt für mein Empfinden nicht ganz an Niamh Parsons oder Planxty heran, ist aber immer noch sehr schön und ausdrucksstark (was das Album angeht, bleibe ich aber skeptisch).
