Eine Frage am Rande noch: Dieses 48 Hours und S.Handbook, wo gibt es die? Kann man die Kaufen? (soweit ich bei google rausgefunden habe, scheinen das Demos zu sein?)

The Good Times Are Killing MeFinde „So Alive“ recht klasse und bin bei dem Album vor allem auf 1974 gespannt, da die Live Version mit Alanis M. schon sehr großartig ist.
Wird sofort gekauft aber dauert halt noch einige Zeit bis dahin.man konnte sie mal runterladen, geht aber mittlerweile nicht mehr
Wieviele Lieder sind das denn?

Holy Shit!!! So I came into the office today (Universal Music/Boston Branch) and they finally got an advance copy of this album in, and I still cant believe what Im hearing! Im on my fourth listen of „Rock and Roll“ and i have to tell you its incredible! Great party record! Also, for anyone who’s heard the first single – „So Alive“ and is kind of wondering „what the fuck is going on?“, please dont worry, the rest of the album is nothin like it. My two favorite songs are „Note to Self – Please Dont Die“ which actually sounds like somthing that came directly from Nirvana’s „Nevermind“ album – very grungy; and „Shallow“ which is a nice catchy bluesy rocker (i know ive heard this before from a bootleg, but this is much more finished sounding). Ryan’s vocals are incredible from start to finish and there isnt one song on this album that I can say I dont like. In fact i love all of them except for „Luminol“ which i like a little bit. In a little while Im going to have to give this back to the ADR who owns it. Theres anti-copy laws and shit like that written all over it and supposedly they can easily track me down if i did burn it, so Im not going to. Im actually glad I got to hear the whole thing from start to finish rather than just crappy mp3s in no particular order off the internet. The album has a real nice flow to it, with the first 5 songs being really rockin (he could probably open up any show with anyone of these songs), then the next 4 songs are even louder and grungier, then the song „Rock and Roll“ which ranks as one of my favorite Ryan songs – just a simple piano song, followed by „Anybody Wanna Take Me Home“ which has some kinda classic rock feel to it, then comes more rockin stuff! You guys are gonna love this album, I feel like this might be bigger than „Gold“, this is like nothing thats been on radio for like 15 freakin years. The production on the album is great, Ryan’s amazing on it! Think the Pinkhearts but tighter and much more solid! This album touches at times with Nirvana, The Smiths, Oasis, The Replacements, The Beatles, and more. Personally I feel like Lost Highway may be workin the wrong single. And although some of you may be dissapointed, I feel like „Note To Self“ could be a big hit on modern rock radio with other hard rock music out there. But thats not to say that the whole album is a hard rock album. My other current favorites on this album are „1974“, „This is It“, „Rock and Roll“, „Wish You Were Here“, „Burning Photographs“, and „Anybody Wanna Take Me Home“……… You guys are gonna be amazed. hopefully ill get a chance to hear ‚love is hell‘ in the next week or so, so ill let you know abouyt that as well…. alright gotta get back to work, peace! Eingängiger? Du meinst wohl eher eintöniger, oder? Da sind die meisten Songs auf „Gold“ doch viel catchier.
Zu der Review: Woher hat der Kerl nur so einen coolen Job? Ich dachte, das wäre nur ein Hardcore-Ryan-Fan?
Und Ryan goes Grunge ist für mich keine gute Nachricht… :-o

doch, finde „so alive“ schon ganz schön catchy. konnte den song nach dem ersten mal hören gleich singen. ging mir bei den meisten songs auf „gold“ nicht so. ob das jetzt positiv oder negativ ist, weiß ich noch nicht. dazu würde ich gerne erst einmal das album hören. aber wie`s aussieht, sind die restlichen songs ja wieder ganz anders. doch, mit `nem grunge-ryan kann ich mich anfreunden. sofern`s originell klingt. aber das kann man von ryan ja wohl erwarten. :gitarre:

och, komm, sagt doch schon dein Name „I just wanna be your firecracker, maybe…“ oder „hell I still love you New York“… :D
die songs sind aber nicht so eingängig, haben nicht so einen drive… kann mir eher vorstellen, `nen clip zu „so alive“ als zu „firecracker“ oder zu „new york, new york“ auf mtv zu sehen oder im radio zu hören. also, ich kann`s mir *eher* vorstelllen… vielleicht liegt´s daran, dass „so alive“ „moderner“ klingt und dieses roots-lastige nicht (mehr) hat und auch so gar nicht nach country klingt. aber wie gesagt, finde das eine nicht *besser* als das andere.
