Naja, mit Vorbehalt: „Gold“ ist leider relativ bis ziemlich grausam glatt produziert….das ist bei allem großartigen Songwriting leider das Manko der Platte.

Ryan Adams und kein Ende… Im Dezember macht er die drei full length Alben für 2005 voll. Das Album ist mit „29“ betitelt und wird voraussichtlich am 20.12.05 veröffentlicht werden. In einem Interview mit Amanda Petrusich ( Pitchfork Feature Interview: Ryan Adams) beschrieb er sein neues Werk folgendermassen:„That one’s really fucked up. It has nine songs, and all the songs are nine minutes long, they’re all story-songs. And it’s basically just me and a piano, me and a guitar, with [producer] Ethan [Johns]. It’s really cerebral. The theme of it was that I wanted to write a record where I could write myself out of my twenties. So for each year of my life, in my twenties, I kind of assigned different parts of my character, I gave them names. The last song is a song from the perspective, believe it or not, of a ghost. When it’s just passed out of a body, and it goes ‚Don’t go to the light/ I’ll show you how to haunt.‘ This spirit is trying to conjure this dead child, this dead person, back to the house where they died. So they can haunt it. It’s really fucked up.“

huch, nee, der 20. ist natürlich blödsinn (platten kommen ja in deutschland freitags raus)…. hätte ich mir auch schenken können, die „news“ hier hineinzukopieren…….
edit: sorry, mog:wai, du warst schneller……. am 20. kommt sie in den staaten raus.

Ryan allein an Klavier und Gitarre klingt zumindest vielversprechend nach all dem Pedal-Steel-Gejammer.

Lately I've been seeing things / They look like they float at the back of my head room[/B] [/SIZE][/FONT]nee, wie auch immer das gerücht aufkam (ryan hat´s in dem pitchfork-interview gesagt, oder?), dass die songs alle 9 minuten lang sein werden, sieht nicht so aus, als würde es sich bewahrheiten. der erste song ist nämlich schon mal nur 5:49 lang.

Die „Gold“ halte ich für ganz passend produziert. Das glatte störte mich immer eher an der „Cold roses“, wobei ich die trotzdem für sein stärkstes Werk halte.
