Nachdem ich eben im RS die Ankündigung gelesen habe, habe ich mal nachgeforscht und folgendes bei http://www.livedaily.com/news/5584.html gefunden:

The 25-track album, titled „Sixty Six to Timbuktu,“ features a mix of album cuts, singles, b-sides, soundtrack work and previously unissued material, all of which has been remastered from the original analog master tapes.
Said Plant in a statement: „I have prided myself in constantly seeking and always changing–to continue the tradition that we were proud of in Led Zeppelin: that we should always move the music and constantly try to move the intention and the topic and the whole game. The most important thing is to satisfy your own lust for music and creation rather than everybody else’s need and expectation.“Most of disc one from „Sixty Six to Timbuktu“ is culled from Plant’s solo albums. It also features The Honeydrippers‘ „Sea of Love“ and the previously unissued track „Upside Down.“
Disc two is comprised of rarities, previously unreleased material, UK-only bonus tracks, and various songs recorded for soundtracks, tribute albums and other special projects. It includes five songs that Plant recorded before he joined Led Zeppelin, including a cover of The Young Rascals‘ „You Better Run,“ which he released in 1966 under the group name Listen. It also features two demos by The Band of Joy, a mid-’60s group that featured future Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.
Disc Two concludes with „Win My Train Fare Home,“ which Plant recorded live earlier this year at The Festival in the Desert, an event that took place in Mali, north of Timbuktu.

Werde ich mir wohl holen, obwohl ich etwa die Hälfte von den offiziellen Soloalben schon habe. Die Pre-Zeppelin-Tracks kenne ich von Bootlegs, würde mich aber sehr freuen, die noch mal in richtig gutem Sound zu hören, die sind nämlich großartig. Ansonsten finde ich die Auswahl von den Soloalben etwas merkwürdig – da fehlt mir einiges, aber egal: Das Teil gibt bestimmt einen guten Einstieg in sein Soloschaffen ab!

Was für eine Nachricht. Hab mir grad vor kurzem selber ne Rarities Comp. gemacht, und jetzt bringt er selber eine raus!
CD 2 ist einfach sensationell:

Nach denen hab ich selbst schon Stunden teils erfolglos das Netz abgesucht! Grandios!„Life Begins Again,“ Louie Louie, Dirt in a hole und Let the boogie woogie Roll hatte ich schon gefunden, die sind das Geld auch alle mal wert.

Würde sagen, das ist ein must-have!! Trotz CD 1, die kann man ja verschenken. Aber stimmt schon, die Auswahl ist nicht gerade optimal, Pictures at Eleven fehlt ganz (weils noch aufm Swan Song-Label rauskam vermute ich).

Gibts übrigens bei cdwow.net für verdammt billige 12,99, ich hab noch 16,99 gezahlt. ABer es gibt ne Menge fürs Geld, zweimal 73 Minuten, 6 unveröffentlichte Tracks + etliche sehr rare.
Schöne Reihenfolge der Songs, passt dramaturgisch perfekt, hoch informatives Booklet mit gut geschriebenen, uneitlen Kommentaren von Plant – was will man mehr (allerhöchstens noch mehr Songs der Honeydrippers).
Der perfekte Einstieg in sein Solo-Schaffen für Leute, die sich nicht so recht an seine post-Zeppelin Sachen herangetraut haben.Highlights von CD2:

Staring at a grey sky, try to paint it blue - Teenage BlueIn der Tat eine tolle Collection, die verdeutlicht, was für gute Sachen Robert nach Zep doch alles gemacht hat. Die Sammlerstücke sind natürlich der wahre Kaufgrund und die sind es auch wert, wenn man schon die Alben alle hat!
Allerdings finde ich gerade die Louie Louie-Version nicht so dolle. Auch Let’s have a party von dem Elvis-Tribute klingt sehr verkrampft. Aber ansonsten Thumbs up! Sehr schöne Aufmachung und schöne Linernotes von Robert überigens!--
