Es ist das beste Album seit „As is now“ und ich habe es jetzt so intus, dass ich gerne jetzt eine Tour zu Platte hätte (September). War im April teilweise etwas überrollt von den neuen Stücken besonders von „I am where I should be“ und „Long time“. Beide eher auf der unteren Beliebtheitssksla in meinem pers . SP-Ranking.

Vielleicht kommt er ja zum Jahresende nochmal auf ein, zwei Gigs. Immerhin hat er zwischen Köln und München noch eine Menge potentieller Auftrittsorte nicht bedient. Stadthalle Heidelberg mal wieder? :sonne:

Paul’s new single ‘I’m Where I Should Be’, is released as a 2-track download / stream on Friday 25th September including a brand new song ‘Open Road’ as part of the package. A 7” vinyl and exclusive vinyl bundle follow two weeks later, on Friday 9th October. Fans who pre-order / purchase the bundle will receive a link to download both tracks on 25th September and the 7”s will be mailed out to arrive on or around 9th October. The bundle contains the 7” vinyl, a download of both tracks, an art print and sticker.

This brand new film by Grammy Award winning director Bob Smeaton traces the band’s formation and success during their brief seven year history (1975-1982) and charts the music, shifting politics, fashion and attitudes that shaped the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Featuring exclusive interviews with Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler alongside those with fans describing the impact the band had on them, the feature is illustrated throughout with archive footage from the period.
The film sets The Jam against the backdrop of the world they came from, and charts their meteoric rise to the success and fame they found in their brief time as a performing band.

The Jam live in Newcastle from October 1980, a blistering gig, with the band at their peak, previewing songs from forthcoming album ‘Sound Affects’.

In the time between The Jam’s show at Reading University (on Disc 3 of the ‘Fire & Skill’ box set) and their appearance at Newcastle City Hall 20 months later, there had been more extraordinary developments in the group’s world. ‘Setting Sons’, their fourth album, had given them a Top 3 hit with ‘The Eton Rifles’, which was followed in February 1980 with the stirring Number 1 single, ‘Going Underground’. After three years on Polydor, The Jam had finally become the biggest group in the UK.
