Ich dachte From the Jam waren jetzt nur noch Russell, Rick und Bruce.
Ein Kompromiss: „From The Gift“ ?

Beide sind jetzt noch in „From The Jam“, könnten also wieder zu „The Gift“ zurückkehren, was aber sicherlich nicht passieren wird…
Rick Buckler had in 2005 invited Russell Hastings for a jam session as he was in the mood to get back playing, Russell went along with fellow Maximum High musician and life long friend David Moore. The three of them hit it off and went on to form The Gift.

Der Kompromiss „From The Gift“ gefällt mir sehr gut!!!
:party:Fakt ist jedenfalls, aktuell waren 2 von drei Leuten von „From The Jam“ früher bei „The Gift“ (und davor bei Maximum High) und nur einer bei The Jam, da wäre für mich der Namenswechsel nur konsequent und ehrlich.
So ist es doch eine kleine Mogelpackung!
Da hätte Bruce damals auch schon mit seiner Soloband oder den Stiff Little Fingers unter dem Namen „[From] The Jam“ auftreten können…--
Über die Gründe von Bucklers Ausstieg gibt es aber nach wie vor keine Informationen, oder? Zerwürnisse? Gesundheit?

Bislang war ja der Tenor: „Man sieht/hört, dass Weller nur einen Drittel des Sounds von The Jam ausgemacht hat“ wenn FTJ positiv gewürdigt wurde. Jetzt wird es heißen „Man sieht wie viel Foxton zu dem Sound von The Jam beigetragen hat“ und keiner wird Buckler erwähnen. Ach, sie hätten’s lassen sollen und von der Legende zehren…

Photograph: Neil Matthews/Rex Features „Earlier that year, when we were on tour in Japan, it was clear that Paul was unhappy. Rick [Buckler, drums] and myself felt we all needed a break. It had been a hectic six years or so and there was a lot of pressure on Paul in particular, with the songwriting. When we got back in the UK, Paul called a meeting. He just said he wanted to leave the band.
„We tried to talk him round, said: ‚Take as long as you need off,‘ but he’d made up his mind. We had no idea what direction he was going to go in but when he came out with the Style Council, it made more sense to me. I thought, ‚OK, maybe you made the right decision,‘ because at that point I wouldn’t have gone in that direction. Possibly he knew that.
„The farewell tour was very emotional. It was a while before I was talked round to have one last fling, and do it for the fans. They were among the best gigs we ever did, but off stage it was totally different. We still met fans after the show, as we’d always done, but their only question was, why? And at that point there was nothing to say but ‚I don’t know.‘ I did feel we had more in us as [COLOR=#005689]the Jam. That we wouldn’t have become an embarrassment.
