Taft Jordan, das ist der Fantasy-Twofer „Mood Indigo“, ja? Sehr schön, wenn auch nicht bahnbrechend oder so…
Hoffe die Dickerson gefällt – reicht nicht an „To My Queen“ ran, aber das tut wohl am Ende fast nichts aus seiner Diskographie.--

Hoffe die Dickerson gefällt – reicht nicht an „To My Queen“ ran, aber das tut wohl am Ende fast nichts aus seiner Diskographie.Dickerson hab ich noch nicht gehört, Cohran bisher zweimal, war ein bißchen viel Getrommel, ich würd wohl eher mit On the Beach oder wie es heißt anfangen, ist ein faszinierendes Line-Up (fast alles Leute mit sehr breiten Credentials, Gene Easton (Gene Ammons, Sun Ra, AACM Gründer), Don Myrick/Louis Satterfield (M Richard Abrams Rehearsal Band, Earth Wind and Fire, Phil Collins), Robert Crowder (AEC, Terry Callier)), aber hat mich noch nicht so recht gepackt… bei Sunkel hab ich jetzt das erste Album („Phil Sunkel’s Jazz Band“) vier, fünf mal gehört, ist sehr schön, so etwa die Mitte zwischen den Dick Collins Alben und Fruscellas Atlantic, gute Solisten, die man nicht oft hört sonst (Dick Meldonian, Buddy Arnold, George Syran), auf **** bis eher ****1/2 Kurs

Von Cohran hab ich noch gar nichts…
gibt seit relativ kurzem günstige CDs von vier seiner Alben (und Jazzman haben auch irgendwas auf Vinyl rausgebracht), so leicht waren sie wohl noch nie erhältlich, das hier (link) kenn ich wie gesagt auch noch und kann ich am empfehlen, ist bei rateyourmusic irgendwann letztes Jahr das 43. beste Jazzalbum aller zeiten gewesen, vielleicht etwas übertrieben, aber es ist schon hübsch
