CleetusAber? Toll! Kauftipp an alle, besser als jede x-te Re-verwurstung von Trojan Records. (Alles Cover bis auf „Hotter Reggae Music“ übrigens.) Gibts auch als Dub.

Ja, diese Compilation ist großartig! Ich hatte ja lange kaum eine Ahnung von Reggae und habe mir mal als Einstieg nach langer Suche diese Platte gekauft. Einfach toll! Der einzige Nachteil ist: Man wird danach kaum was besseres finden. Ist die Dub-Version gut? Sind das wirklich Dub-Versions der Originale oder Neueinspielungen?

Wenn Ska auch geht, wäre ich absolut für Night Boat to Cairo.

Logo geht Ska. Die Skatalites sind ja schon durch und The Specials wurden auch schon in die Runde geworfen. Ich persönlich bevorzuge allerdings Vintage-Ska wie z.B. Baba Brooks – Vitamin A.

Die Dub-Version hab ich noch nicht gehört, ist erst kürzlich erschienen. Kennst du die Soul Jazz Records-Compilationen? Die Studio One Soul finde ich auch sehr empfehlenswert, geht in Richtung der von dir genannten Jamdown LP.

Danke für den Nardo-Kick, Tiken Jah Faloy hätte ich durchgelassen (weil ich mit Alpha Blondy wohl keine Chance habe).

Roots Manuva – Witness Dub finde ich toll, aber Boogie Down Productions verfehlt in meinen Ohren das Thema. Zwingt mich nicht Pole zu bringen!

Die Dub-Version hab ich noch nicht gehört, ist erst kürzlich erschienen. Kennst du die Soul Jazz Records-Compilationen? Die Studio One Soul finde ich auch sehr empfehlenswert, geht in Richtung der von dir genannten Jamdown LP.

Nee, kenne ich noch nicht. Soul Jazz-Compis bürgen ja in der Regel für Qualität.
