Hab gestern Abend mal in der Coltrane reference geschaut, das steht nirgends Tiberi’s Name aber es werden einige der Tapes aus der Sammlung diskutiert, mutmaßlich alle Aufnahmen aus Philadelphia, bei denen nicht genau steht wo sie herkommen und die nie als bootlegs erschienen… Bei manchen stehen Tracklisten, bei anderen nur ein Stichwort, zB Oktober 62 zwei Abende mit Dolphy… Das alleine hat ja schon das Potential, eine schöne Geburtstagsveröffentlichung zu sein, wenn alles passt…

es beginnt in der Reference im Juli 1960 mit 170 Minuten aus dem Showboat, Tyner + mutmasslich Steve Davis und Pete La Roca, und zieht sich dann so durch die Jahre bis in die Mitte der 60er, alle paar Monate ein Eintrag… manche tapes sind auch weniger interessant, zB das wo Coltrane am Klavier eine Sängerin begleitet (s. die ersten Einträge von 1963). Juni und August 63 gibt es auch noch tapes von Alan Sukoenig aus Philadelphia, was es trickier macht… September 64 gibt es scheinbar nochmal mehr, die Periode von A Love Supreme… spätere Sachen hab ich nicht gesehen, aber auch nicht super gründlich geguckt.

Danke für den Hinweis, das ist dann genau die erste Session, die ich oben erwähnte… Der Tippfehler im Namen des Drummer ist hoffentlich kein Preview, aber wie man den Laden inzwischen kennt, vermutlich doch…

Hat Zappa und Bob Marley noch live erlebt!wenn ich das richtig sehe, ist From Form to Spirit einfach eine Compilation von Prestige, Blue Note und Atlantic Sachen, so liest sich jedenfalls der Blurb… In France 65 wird so beschrieben:

Ohne Musik ist alles Leben ein Irrtum.Ich war zu müde gestern … die Aufnahmen aus Frankreich gibt’s natürlich abgesehen vom einen Love Supreme Reissue nur auf Bootlegs bisher. Steht ja oben auch im blurb (wobei das eine Textsorte ist, bei der Misstrauen selbstverständlich ist).
Für die Tiberi-Platte gibt es jetzt ein Cover und eine Tracklist:

Was das wohl zu bedeuten hat…

verstehe ich auch nicht, aber „satellite“ ist ein lieblings-coltrane-track von mir, und davon gibt es bisher keine live-aufnahme, oder?

Ich kenne keine … ich vermute, die Platte ist für die Hardcore-Vinyl-Fans, „Preview“ auf irgendwas, was dann vielleicht eher digital oder (mir natürlich am liebsten) auf CD herauskommen wird? Eine Box à la Dylan 1966 oder 1975 erwarte ich da nicht, aber sowas wie eine gute gefüllte Doppel- oder Vierfach-CD vielleicht schon, irgendwas zwischen Temple University und Ayler – bzw. demnächst Coltrane – in France vielleicht? Ist Resonance/Feldman da involviert oder hat Verve noch wen eigenes für so ein Projekt?
