Für die Klangqualität insgesamt ist das ja nur ein Mosaiksteinchen unter VIELEN anderen. Und ansonsten gilt da natürlich auch „das richtige Maß“. TO ONE OF ROCK’S MOST POPULAR ALBUMS
The spectacular debut album that launched Sheryl Crow into rock music consciousness has been expanded both musically and visually for the 2CD/1DVD Tuesday Night Music Club – Deluxe Edition (A&M/UMe), released November 17, 2009. Along with the original 1993 album, the package adds a second CD containing B-sides, rarities and out-takes, as well as a bonus DVD featuring the album’s videos (“Leaving Las Vegas,” “All I Wanna Do,” “Strong Enough,” “Can’t Cry Anymore,” “Run, Baby, Run” and “What I Can Do For You,” plus a rare alternate version of “All I Wanna Do” directed by Roman Coppola) and a newly produced documentary comprised of on-the-road, backstage, soundcheck and live footage from the original album tour.
Highlighting the bonus CD for Tuesday Night Music Club – Deluxe Edition are four previously unreleased recordings from 1995 that were intended for the follow-up album–“Coffee Shop,” “Killer Life,” “Essential Trip Of Hereness” and “You Want More”
–each only now mixed by original Tuesday Night Music Club producer Bill Bottrell. In addition, Bottrell remixed the album’s “I Shall Believe” specifically for this Deluxe Edition. The bonus CD also includes a trio of U.K. single B-sides (“Reach Around Jerk,” an alternate “The Na-Na Song” titled “Volvo Cowgirl 99” and a cover of Eric Carmen’s “All By Myself”), a tribute album cover of Led Zeppelin’s “D’yer Mak’er,” and “On The Outside,” a contribution to an X-Files soundtrack album.
Tuesday Night Music Club has proved to be a landmark achievement even beyond propelling Crow’s own formidable career by inspiring and influencing countless female singer-songwriters, perhaps even saving that genre from extinction in the grungy days of the early ‘90s. Certified seven times platinum and charting at #3, the album spawned five Grammy® nominations and three wins: Best New Artist and a pair for “All I Wanna Do,” including Record of the Year. Three songs reached the Pop Top 40–the gold “All I Wanna Do” (#2), “Strong Enough” (#5) and “Can’t Cry Anymore.” “Leaving Las Vegas” cracked the Modern Rock Top 10.
“Somehow amidst the dance divas of MTV and the dark angst of Seattle grunge,” writes her manager, Scooter Weintraub, in the liner notes, “Sheryl’s salty voice, twangy Telecaster, frayed Levis, red curls and bent upper lip scratched their way into the musical culture.” In 1999, she was ranked among VH1’s “100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll.”
Since Tuesday Night Music Club, Crow has released five studio albums (each charting Top 10, four of them platinum-plus), a triple-platinum greatest hits collection, and more. She has also been nominated for 27 more Grammys, winning six more. Her most recent nomination was for her most recent album, 2008’s Detours, which reunited her with producer Bottrell and returned her to the spirit of Tuesday Night Music Club.

EMI TO RELEASE SEVEN GENTLE GIANT IN
DIGITAL FORMAT ON NOVEMBER 3Hollywood, California – October 15, 2009 – On November 3rd 2009 Gentle Giant will be digitally releasing seven of their best-known albums and tracks in digital form for the very first time via their own Alucard label through EMI Music’s Label Services unit.
This progressive rock band, which was active from 1970 through 1980, was made up of multi-instrumentali sts, and lived to expand the frontiers of contemporary popular music at the risk of becoming very unpopular.“ The group’s dozen albums combine a range of musical styles-jazz, pop, classical, British soul, rock, blues, medieval, pop, blues, Gentle Giant’s legacy has become influential to a range of artists from the arena rock, jam band, virtuoso players, and chamber pop genres.
In a Glass House, The Power & The Glory, Freehand, Interview, Playing The Fool-The Official Live, The Missing Piece and Giant For a Day will become available through all digital channels.
The digital releases will also include previously unheard bonus tracks and artwork.
The band has chosen favorite live versions of songs from each album and some obscure radio sessions. Two of the bonus tracks „Intro 74“ and „Intro 76“ have been partially re-recorded, embellished and remixed by Kerry Minnear of the group.
Minnear, plus Gentle Giant bandmates Ray Shulman, Gary Green, John Weathers, and Derek Shulman are available for interviews. Other promotion includes radio, print, Internet, and mobile phone outreach. Digital listening parties are being set up on line, and will include competitions to win special Gentle Giant gift sets.
More Gentle Giant music will be available in a variety of formats in 2010, starting with the January release of the seven CDs Re-Mastered from the original 1∕4 inch tapes through Hi-Resolution (24bit 96k) transfer. First quarter of 2010 will also find box sets and Limited Edition Vinyl LPs.

Nochmal Miles Davis, wobei ich über die vorgenannte VÖ (09.11.08 (UK) / 17.11.09 (US) / 20.11.09 (DE) ) gespoltert bin: 2009 live archive release from the Jazz legend containing a previously unreleased complete performance from his 1973 European tour! Six tracks. Though the show only consists of six tracks, three of them are 10+ minute workouts including a 23 minute version of ‚Calypso Frelimo‘.
Das Label ist GAMBIT, das wohl bereits schon einige Archiv-VÖ aus dem Jazz-Bereich getätigt hat.

Public Image Limited’s most popular and critically acclaimed studio album has been given the complete remastering treatment. PiL’s second album Metal Box (released in Dec 1979) was originally released on three 45 rpm discs (to cope with Jah’s intense bass!) and housed in a metal film canister. The landmark album has now been fully remastered for the first time and will be released on three CDs in a metal tin case to pay homage to the original. To supplement this release, the long-deleted The Plastic Box album will also be re-issued. Originally released in 1999, the 4CD album provides a complete overview the band’s work, including tracks taken from every album together with John Peel sessions, remixes and much more.

Unlimited presents 72 tracks from when he stepped out with his own sound, with Love Unlimited in 1972, through his final studio album, the Grammy®-winning Staying Power, released in 1999. Highlighted throughout the four CDs are extended and/or rare versions of his hits – newly mixed and/or edited with great care by Jack Perry, BW’s longtime friend and collaborator – as well as never-compiled personal favorites and LP tracks. Of particular delight to Barry White fans is two discs’ worth of rare Barry productions for a dozen different artists, including Tom Brock, Love Unlimited, Love Unlimited Orchestra, Gene Page, Jimmie & Vella Cameron, Westwing, Jay Dee (a.k.a. Formed in Chelmsford when main protagonists Douglas McCarthy (vocals) and Bon Harris (drums, programming) were just 15, Nitzer Ebb cut a dynamic swathe through the industrial music and Balaeric beat scenes of the 1980s and 90s. They were electro-punks before the genre even existed, at a time when The Prodigy were not even a gleam in fellow Essex boy Liam Howlett’s eye.
Militaristic, intimidating yet always accessible, Nitzer Ebb enjoyed a string of ferocious club hits and released five critically acclaimed albums on Mute. From their first-ever single, 1984’s ‚Isn’t It Funny How Your Body Works‘ through to their final 1995 single ‚I Thought‘, they were a band whose honed aggression, originality and precision were impeccable.Artists lined up to cite them as a major influence, or less honourably, simply exploiting the Ebb’s musical template for their own individual gain. Whilst such a situation may be a cause of great annoyance to most bands, the Ebb maintain a healthy level of stoicism. As they say, “That’s the problem with being ahead of the game – the pioneers get the arrows and the settlers get the land.”
