CD 35 & CD 36, Cortot mit dem Orchestre de l’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. Zuerst gibt es Couperins Huitième concert dans de goût théâtral (arr. Cortot, rec. 1932) und dann die soweit ich weiss erste komplette Einspielung der Brandenburgischen Konzerte Bachs (rec. 1931-33).

Nachtarbeit, Bergs Violinkonzert.
Zuerst mit Menuhin und Boulez:
Eine wunderbare Einspielung, Menuhin vollkommen entrückt, mit einem Ton, der bei allem Tod immer noch warm ist. Und aus irgendeinem Grund muss ich dabei immer an seine großartige Interpretation des Mendelssohn-Konzerts mit Furtwängler denken. – Dann zu Mitropoulos und Szigeti, ein zweiter Anlauf – beim ersten, gestern, war ich nicht mehr ganz frisch bzw. wach und wohl deshalb irritiert. Aber heute ist das anders:
Das ist die Hervorkehrung einer anderen, aber natürlich gewichtigen Seite dieses Konzerts, die der Totenstarre, bei Mitropoulos nicht anders zu erwarten. Und Szigeti schwebt über den Wassern, unerbittlich, von Anfang bis Ende.
Beides großartig, beides Facetten eines wahnsinnigen Violinkonzerts.

Zu Szigeti/Mitropoulos mit Berg muss ich also demnächst auch wieder greifen, hat mich bisher nicht rehct packen wollen. Perlman muss ich auch wieder anhören.

Die Sinfonia concertante von Isaac Stern und Pinchas Zukerman mit dem English Chamber Orchestra unter Barenboim (rec. 1971) – immer wieder grossartig!

(Thelonious Monk) | Meine Sendungen auf Radio StoneFM: gypsy goes jazz, #169: Pianistinnen im Trio, 1984–1993 – 13.01.2026, 22:00 | Slow Drive to South Africa, #8: tba | No Problem Saloon, #30: tbaBei der dritten CD aus der Stern/Mozart-Box blieb ich gestern den ganzen Abend hängen, die Sinfonia concertante hörte ich dreimal komplett und mit viel Gebrauch der Repeat-Taste manche Ausschnitte immer wieder. Jetzt bin ich zum dritten Mal bei der CD mit Madrigalen und Liedern von Sigismondo D’India, die Les Arts Florissants unter William Christie eingespielt haben – und langsam öffnet sich mir die Musik wie eine Rose, die sich ganz langsam entfaltet. Sie ist wohl harmonisch und in der Stimmführung komplexer als die Musik von Monteverdi, manchmal ist sie richtiggehend dissonant. Ich benötige wohl noch einige Anläufe, aber das ist sehr faszinierende Musik!
