Ich kam gestern bis zum Tschaikowski-Konzert, mit dem die zweite CD beginnt, jetzt Prokofievs zweites Konzert, das sehr, sehr toll beginnt. Ich habe den Violinkonzerten Prokofievs und diesem überhaupt bisher wenig Beachtung geschenkt, oder eher: bin ihm noch kaum über den Weg gelaufen, was ich hier höre, lässt aber aufhorchen. Ich muss die Einspielungen der Werke, die ich von Oistrach, Stern, Heifetz (nur Nr. 2), Milstein und Tretiakov (von beiden nur Nr. 1) mal hervorsuchen.

CD 8 – wieder Prokofiev, das erste Konzert 1954 mit dem LSO unter Matacic, das zweite dann 1958 mit dem Philharmonia Orchestra unter Galliera, und schliesslich die zweite Violinsonate mit Yampolski (1955 in Brüssel aufgenommen).

Die beinah schon traditionelle sonntagnachmittägliche Oper … heute zum allerersten Mal „Così fan tutte“ und zwar in der obigen Ausgabe der Karajan-Aufnahme.

Die CD beginnt mit der Violinsonate Op. 9 von Szymanowski und dann gibt es einen Strauss kleiner Stücke, Suk, Kodály, Wieniawski, Zarzycki, Falla etc. Begleitet wird Oistrach von Vladimir Yampolski, die Sonate wurde wie die Sonate von Franck 1954 in Stockholm aufgenommen, die kleinen Stücke dann 1956 in den Abbey Road Studios.
Oistrach packt mich heute enorm … so sehr, wie wohl noch gar nie. Das mag daran liegen, dass ich ihn bisher stets nach anderen Aufnahmen gehört habe, im Vergleich, ohne ihn je einfach so, ganz für sich zu hören.
Zu „Così fan tutte“ muss ich bald wieder … ich bin sehr begeistert von der Oper an sich, die Einspielung von Karajan ist gewiss sehr fein, aber einiges irritierte oder störte mich, Lisa Otto war stellenweise schlimm (am schlimmsten als Arzt, ich weiss, das ist Theater, aber dennoch …), Nan Merriman gefiel mir auch nicht überall, ihr Vibrato ist enorm weit und störte mich hie und da, und Sesto Bruscantini, der Bass, klingt doch sehr, sehr leicht, und sehr nett auch – dabei ist doch seine Rolle die des Intriganten, der den ganzen Plot überhaupt antreibt. Das scheint mir hier nicht optimal umgesetzt. Schwarzkopf war allerdings sehr gut, ebenso Panerai, und Simoneau ist unglaublich! Das Orchester ist spitze, aber mir wohl eine Spur zu dick, zu wohlklingend. Etwas mehr Spitzen, etwas mehr Dynamik hätte wohl gut getan?
Vielleicht muss ich die Aufnahme auch einfach noch ein paar Male hören, das ist nur ein allererster Eindruck (der ja wie gesagt zugleich der allererste von dieser Oper überhaupt ist). Die Böhm-Aufnahme mit Lisa della Casa, Christa Ludwig, Erich Kunz und Anton Dermota liegt bereit, ich höre sie wohl bevor ich wieder zu Karajan will.
Zudem sind die Gardiner- und Klemperer-Boxen unterwegs und ich freue mich sehr, hoffe letztere wird nicht zu einer Enttäuschung sondern eher zu einer anregenden Irritation!
