Ja, das Paket kam wie erwartet am Freitag. Der Eindruck von den Dumestre-CD ist klasse, nur bei der Pergolesi war ich etwas verwundert … das „Stabat mater“ ist da „eingebettet“ bzw. es wird einiges vorangstellt, in dem die beiden namentlich erwähnten Solisten zum Zuge kommen – und da sind tolle Dinge zu hören! Danach sind Mitglieder des Chores als Solisten zu hören, was das Ding natürlich sehr anders wirken lässt, weil es keine stimmliche Kontinuität gibt. Interessant klang das das schon, aber auch ungewöhnlich, unerwartet. Will ich bald mal wieder anhören.
Schoonderwoerds Chopin wurde ja wie es scheint eher skeptisch aufgenommen, man liest, das verwendete Pleyel-Piano von 1836 sie schon für damalige Verhältnisse schwerfällig gewesen in der Mechanik. Das tiefe Register ist in der Tat etwas dünn, die Dynamik hält sich in engeren Grenzen als bei modernen Aufnahmen – aber insgesamt ist der erste Eindruck so schlecht nicht. Rhythmisch nimmt er sich wohl wirklich weniger Freiheiten (in den Tänzen etwas mehr) und wenn es laut wird, wird’s manchmal – gerade in der Polonaise Op. 26/2 – schon ziemlich schwerfällig, „clunky“, eher wie ein trottender Elephant als wie ein tanzender (denn schwer sind die Polonaisen ja auch in den Händen anderer Pianisten manchmal, aber es gibt dann doch eine Art Eleganz, auch wenn gehämmert wird, und diese Eleganz fehlt hier). Aber man kann auch das sehr gut hören und als Ergänzung zu Rubinstein, Arrau, François, Cziffra oder Horowitz ist es allein schon von Interesse, weil ein altes Instrument zum Einsatz kommt. Nunja, nein, das macht an sich ja nichts interessant, anders gesagt dünkt mich: Man kann Chopin so spielen. Also alles gut. Zu Lieblings-CDs werden die beiden allerdings eher nicht, vermute ich.

Wie gefielen dir die Aufnahmen? Bei den Schubert-Liedern ist Anderson mein ewiger Favorit.

Sehr gut! Die andere CD (Schubert/Schumann) ist auch unterwegs!
Jetzt:
Eine der ersten Opern, die ich je hörte … in der Gardiner-Einspielung, die mir wohl immer noch die liebste ist – es ist in dem Fall jedoch nicht so, dass das erste Hören prägend gewesen ist oder so, das lag so weit zurück, als ich vor etwas über einem Jahr zurück zu ihr fand, dass ich überhaupt keine Erinnerung mehr hatte. Die Aufnahmen von Cavina und Alessandrini sind auch klasse, aber Anthony Rolfe Johnson ist für mich der beste Orfeo. Mal sehen, wie Jacobs sich dazu verhält … den Auftakt macht Efrat Ben-Nun (sie gibt danach auch die Euridice) als La Musica und das ist schon mal äusserst vielversprechend.
Die Jacobs-DVD habe ich auch noch … sie entstand ein paar Jahre später mit einer fast völlig anderen Besetzung (nur Orfeo Laurence Dale und Caonte Paul Gérimon sind noch dabei). Mal sehen, ob ich die DVD auch irgendwann schaffe, ist bisher eher nicht so meins.
