eigentlich nur „I Got a Woman“ zum Abschluss der spontan zusammengestellten Playlist (und klar, jedes Mal die CD gewechselt) – aber jetzt läuft grad das ganze Album durch, schon lange (und überhaupt noch nicht oft) gehört – gut aber nicht unter Smiths besten

manchmal braucht es ja etwas (zeitlichen) abstand, um zu erkennen oder bestätigt zu bekommen, wie groß- und einzigartig etwas ist.

zündet bei mir nach wie vor nicht, ich hab’s vor kurzem auch mal wieder zwei, dreimal probiert … kann es irgendwie nicht endgültig erklären (oder fassen), aber es klappt einfach nicht so recht

auf Hypes bin ich ja sowieso meist ziemlich allergisch (von Matana Roberts hatte ich noch nie gehört, bevor ich ans erste Konzert bin, ein paar wenige Dinge über sie gelesen und daraufhin beschlossen, das Konzert zu besuchen – dass ich eine Sticks and Stones-CD mit ihr hatte, merkte ich erst danach, der Name war mir dort nicht hängengeblieben) – aber The Thing mag ich ganz gerne, bzw. die älteren Sachen die ich von ihnen kenne, habe längst aufgehört, zu verfolgen, was sie machen – das Album mit Joe McPhee („She Knows“) und das davor („The Thing“), beide auf Crazy Wisdom, habe ich jedenfalls noch immer irgendwo … das Nachfolge-Album von Cherry war wohl nichts für mich, aber ich hörte daraus nur irgendeinen Vorab-Track, wohl mal hier im Forum?
