Das zweite Album des Duos … Maslak hier auch am Tenor und ohne Gelaber (gibt’s auf dem Black Saint-Album nur ganz zum Schluss). Grässliches Cover, wie so oft bei Leo, aber ich glaube, die Musik gefällt mir besser als die auf dem ersten Album, Bley scheint präsenter und das Tenor von Maslak ist schon ziemlich toll.

Ich glaube noch schöner als die beiden tollen Quartett-Alben … Monk hingegen ist wohl eher ein nettes Dokument aus seiner Zeit des Rückzuges auf Raten als eine wirklich Entdeckung – aber dennoch eine feine Sache.
Mit Hancock gehe ich gerade vom Himmel in die Hölle und züruck, oftmals innert einiger Sekunden. Das Trio-Album fand ich eher schwach (kein Wunder, es kommt von denselben Sessions with Carters „Third Plane“, das ich auch nicht wahnsinnig mag), die V.S.O.P.-Alben gefielen mir hingegen ziemlich gut, das zweite wohl noch etwas besser (aber das erste hat „Little Waltz“). „Sunlight“ und jetzt „Feets“ schwanken zwischen klasse Funk mit fetten Bässen und leichtgewichtigem Pop, den ich nicht brauche. Je schwerer der Funk, desto mehr ist das down my alley … gerade groovt „Honey from the Jar“ und das gefällt mir sehr gut.
