Justin Ringle and Peter Broderick aus Portland spielen reduzierte Folksongs mit Gitarre und Gestreiche. Das klingt sehr oft sehr gut. Wie alle diesen ruhigen Songwritergötter und doch eigen. Definitiv zum Anhören geeignet. Debut heißt „Words are dead“.

Say okay, I have had enough / What else can you show me?Schöne Folk-Miniaturen mit fast kammermusikalischen Momenten. Gefällt mir sehr gut. So hätte ich Oldham gerne mal wieder gehört, ganz stripped down to the core und intim. „Lucky Madison“ ist in jedem Fall bald in meiner Sammlung. Ist das demnach das zweite Album des Duos?
Meiner Meinung nach ist „Lucky Madison“ das Label. „Words are dead“ ist auf jeden Fall das Debut.

„words are dead“ ist eine wirklich schöne platte geworden.
interessant dabei ist, dass ein teil der band multiinstrumentalist peter broderick ist, der wiederum auch bei norfolk & western sowie efterklang aushilft, vor allem bei deren liveauftritten. derzeit ist er auf solopfaden unterwegs, gibt konzerte im uk.
für seinen arbeitsbereich horse feathers gibt er an, dass noch im dezember der zweite teil des geplanten neuen releases (veröffentlichung voraussichtlich september 08) fertiggestellt werden soll.Gerade erst auf die Band aufmerksam geworden. Sehr bezaubernd.
