Sehr schöne Sachen, liebe Tina. Ich kenne etwa die Hälfte der Songs und da versteckt sich Zahlreiches, was mir auch sehr sehr wichtig ist. „Tom the model“ als bester Track der Collaboration hat mich irritiert, ebenso auch die Auswahl der Newsom, Pink Floyd und Diane Aufnahmen und vor allem diverser Songs von Walker – auf den ersten vier Großwerken hat Scott nun wirklich nichts falsch gemacht, aber „Montague terrace (in blue)“, „Rosemary“ und gerade auch „The amorous Humphey Plugg“ hatten bei mir nie den höchsten Stellenwert). Dass Du „Bela Lugosi’s dead“ führst finde ich großartig, hoffentlich die lange Version? Wie findest Du denn ihre vier bzw. fünf Studioalben?

Was an „Sex beat“ dran ist, muss ich mir irgendwann noch ergründen. Ich mag JLP und TGC wirklich sehr, aber mir gibt die Aufnahme fast nichts (entgegen vielen Songs von „Miami“)

Grandiose #1 natürlich.

1. Das muss aber für heute nicht allzu viel bedeuten, denn Deine Lieblinge wechseln ja nicht so einfach alle Tage. Wäre sie heute nach sieben Jahren wirklich sooo arg viel anders!?? (auch wenn Du sie schon mehrmals als einen Schnellschuss bezeichnet hast).
2. Diese Unterscheidung teile ich nicht. Das ist mir zuerst einmal egal. Entscheidend ist immer das Lied, gleich worauf es sich befindet. Wenn sie für Dich unverzichtbar sind, dann ist das ja auch völlig ok. Aber wir werden ja eine neue, berichtigte Liste da nie mehr sehen (Deine eigene Ankündigung).
3. Ich und andere (;-)) kapieren halt nicht, wenn Deine Lieblingsgruppe lediglich so marginal (und mit solchen Platzierungen) vertreten ist.
4. Unterm Strich ist das aber auf jeden Fall eine ganz herausragende TOP-Liste in meinen Ohren, weil ich ca. 80 % als meisterwerklich selber so einordne. Cheerio!!!:bier:

1. Da wären schon einige andere drin und die Reihenfolge würde sich auch teils ordentlich ändern.
2. Ja, es sieht nicht gut aus für eine neue Liste. Ich merke auch, dass gerade bei Songs die Vorlieben doch stärker wechseln als bei den Alben.
3. Das werdet ihr auch nie mehr verstehen. Ich dachte, ich hätte es unter Punkt 2. ansatzweise erläutert.

Irrlichtauf den ersten vier Großwerken hat Scott nun wirklich nichts falsch gemacht, aber „Montague terrace (in blue)“, „Rosemary“ und gerade auch „The amorous Humphey Plugg“ hatten bei mir nie den höchsten Stellenwert).

Das sind die Aufnahmen, die mich einst mit den jeweiligen Alben vermählt haben. Ich bin auch der Meinung, dass das Qualitätsgefälle auf den ersten viel Alben minimal („Scott“) bis nichtexistent („Scott 4“) ist, das bedeutet aber nicht, dass ich alle Tracks gleichermaßen liebe. „Rosemary“ etwa war damals in Bezug auf Scott gewissermaßen die lyrische Offenbarung, „The Amorous Humphrey Plugg“ in all seiner Grandezza die musikalische. Daher haben die beiden Tracks einfach einen besonderen Stellenwert.
„Tom The Model“ hat dagegen eher persönliche biographische Gründe und von Pink Floyd mag ich im Wesentlichen die Syd-Barrett-Jahre.

IrrlichtDass Du „Bela Lugosi’s dead“ führst finde ich großartig, hoffentlich die lange Version? Wie findest Du denn ihre vier bzw. fünf Studioalben?

Die lange, ja. Ansonsten kenne und besitze ich bisher nur „Mask“ und einige weitere Singles. Welche LP(s) kannst Du noch empfehlen?

IrrlichtWas an „Sex beat“ dran ist, muss ich mir irgendwann noch ergründen. Ich mag JLP und TGC wirklich sehr, aber mir gibt die Aufnahme fast nichts (entgegen vielen Songs von „Miami“)

Die Aufnahme gehört für mich zu den furiosesten unter-180-Sekunden Musik, die ich je gehört habe. The Gun Club haben ja nicht viele schnörkellose Punk-Tracks aufgenommen, dies ist einer (mit einer Prise Rockabilly, mind you). Den rootsigeren Rest des Albums mag ich aber auch sehr, auch wenn „Miami“ inzwischen wohl auch meine liebste TGC-LP ist.

atomSehr viel tolles, tina toledo und einige Überraschung wie „Shipbuilding“, „The Revolution Will Not Be Televised“ (welche Version?) oder „Bela Lugosi’s Dead“, die ich nicht so hoch erwartet hätte.

„Shipbuilding“: Die Wyatt-Version war sogar schon vor vier Jahren in meiner Liste, wenn auch nicht so hoch. Die Costello-Version ist mir erst jüngst ans Herz gewachsen, die hatte ich aus nun komplett unerfindlichen Gründen als schwülstig empfunden. „The Revolution…“: Die Band-Version liegt bei mir deutlich vorne. Bei Dir?
