[/SIZE][/COLOR]Bei weit über 100 Classic LPs habe ich noch nie Probleme gehabt oder evtl. Reklamationen. Jeder Händler nimmt aber fehlerhafte Classic LPs zurück, da er sie zu 100% erstattet bekommt.

Hey man, why don't we make a tune... just playin' the melody, not play the solos...Ich hätte bezüglich eventueller ReIssues von Genesis-Alben eine Frage. Auf eBay habe ich entdeckt, dass 200gr Pressungen von „Classic Records“ angeboten werden:
Hat jemand Informationen über Erscheinungsdatum, Press- und Soundqualität? Zudem würde mich interessieren, welche Alben aus dem Werk auf „Classic Records“ erschienen sind?

Ich habe diese Pressungen allerdings noch nie gehört. Die Original Pressungen der Alben bekommst du aber extrem günstig.

Das wären auch die Alben, die mich ohnehin nur interessieren (+“Trespass“).
atomDie Original Pressungen der Alben bekommst du aber extrem günstig.
Ich würde hier natürlich die UK-Pressungen bevorzugen. Ich werde mich mal umsehen. War halt nur überrascht, dass „Classic“ die wiederveröffentlicht hat. Und natürlich: Danke, atom!

Horace Silver Quintet – Further Explorations (BLP 1589)
Continuing the major groove that pianist Silver had established at Blue Note, this 1958 release finds trumpeter-extraordinaire Art Farmer and Clifford Jordan’s tenor sax on the frontline assault. Rounding out the five are drummer Louis Hayes and bassist Teddy Kotick. Silver penned five new exciting pieces for these sessions while also tailoring a personal arrangement of the Arlen-Koehler standard „Ill Wind.“ Mastered and cut from the original full-track mono master tapes using a full-track mono tape head and all-tube tape electronics and cutting system.
Bud Powell – Time Waits (BLP 1598)
This classic piano trio date from May 1958 is considered one of the absolute best from Powell’s late period. Bouts of mental disease resulted in highs and lows in his final discography, but the majority of his titles cut for Blue Note in the late 1950s stand out. Showing he still possessed what listeners and critics called „the bounce,“ this album in particular reinforces Powell as a first-rate composer, with the debut of seven originals including the magnificent „John’s Abbey“ and the title tune. Bassist Sam Jones and drummer Philly Joe Jones knows how to stay out of his way and their contributions are nothing short of perfection. Mastered and cut from the original full-track mono master tapes using a full-track mono tape head and all-tube tape electronics.
Bennie Green – Soul Stirrin‘ (BLP 1599)
One of the more unique recordings in the Blue Note 1500 series, trombonist Bennie Green oversees a cool mix of swing, blues and mambo arrangements, including vocal contributions by the leader himself and the great Babs Gonzales. With his bone tone still rooted in the swing era, Green was starting to take notice and become influenced by the emergence of soul and rhythm and blues. Case in point; inviting Gene Ammons to sit in on tenor. Adding Billy Root as a second tenor creates a frontline like no other while the legendary Sonny Clark handles the piano. Ike Isaac’s bass and the brute-drumming of Elvin Jones round out the sextet. Mastered and cut from the original full-track mono master tapes using a full-track mono tape head and all-tube tape electronics and cutting system.
Jethro Tull – Aqualung
The ultra-classic Aqualung cut from the original analog master tapes and pressed on 200-gram vinyl at RTI. The release features, for the first time since the original Chrysalis release, an authentic linen textured gatefold jacket and original label art. Really, does it get any better?

Ich kenne beide nur sehr flüchtig, da ich sie vor Jahren das letzte Mal gehört habe. Die Besetzung und das Spiel auf „Hootin‘ n‘ Tootin'“ (ts/g/org/dr) hat mich nicht sonderlich begeistert während die „Up And Down“ besonders durch Booker Ervin ihren Reiz hat, so dass sie für mich interessanter ist.

P.s.: Gibt es von „Classics“ einen „Newsletter“? Damit man den genauen Veröffentlichungstermin usw. hat.

Es gibt einige Classic Pressungen, die für mich eine deutlich höhere Priorität besitzen als „Up And Down“. Falls ich sie mir dennoch irgend wann kaufen sollte, werde ich gern berichten.

„Hootin‘ and tootin“ ist gerade wegen der eher obskureren Sidemen und dem kraftvollen, energischen Spiel von Jackson (und dem Organisten) von meiner Seite aus absolut empfehlenswert.--
