Die passen ihre Begleitung jedem Solisten an – hinter Coltrane legen sie jetzt gleich wieder ein paar Gänge zu. Fasziniert mich sehr, was das alles abgeht, auch nach all den Jahren noch!

jedes einzelne Wortjede einzelne Note Note war am richtigen Platz. Perfekt!Ist wohl bis heute eine Art Pflichtübung unter Nachwuchssaxophonisten … ich tat mich sehr lange schwer damit – wohl weil es so organisiert ist, weil es eben auf Licks, Versatzstücken basiert, deren Aneinanderreihung zwar halbwegs spontan sein mag, aber sowas kriegte damals auch Coltrane nicht anders hin …
