Ich besitze noch einen alten Rock’n’Roll Sampler von Bellaphon. Da ist eine Liveaufnahme von Hanky Panky drauf. Das geht noch mal ne ganzer Ecke heftiger ab.

Elliot Chiprut (Single, 1967)
Produziert von Jeffry Katz, Jerry Kasenetz und Elliot Chiprut, also weitgehend das gleiche Team wie bei „Yummy Yummy Yummy“. Anders als Ohio Express war 1910 Fruitgum Company eine echte Band, die auch Tourneen u. a. mit den Beach Boys absolvierte und einige weitere Hit-Singles hatte. --

Jeff Barry, Andy Kim (Single, 1969)
Wiederum ein reines Studio-Projekt, produziert von Jeff Barry. Titellied der Cartoon-Serie „The Archies“ um eine fiktive Band, sollte ursprünglich von The Monkees aufgenommen werden. Lead Vocals: Ron Dante, der später als Produzent erfolgreich war. Das kurzzeitge Teen-Idol Andy Kim, Co-Autor des Songs, singt im Background.--
Ende der 60er alles im Radio gehört. Fand ich als Kind toll und das meiste gefällt mir auch heute noch.

Die kannte ich auch zuerst. Auch andere Shondells-Hits sind in den 80ern erfolgreich gecovert worden, „I Think We’re Alone Now“, „Crimson And Clover“ …

Von Crimson and Clover gibt es auch eine Fassung von Prince.
