franky-four-fingersIn den letzten Tagen habe ich fast ausschließlich PAINLESS von Nilüfer Yanya gehört. Ein toller Pop-Indie-R&B-Hybrid mit schönen Melodien und raffinierter Produktion. Aktuell bin ich sehr angetan. Muss mir auch mal den Vorgänger nochmal zu Gemüte führen…
Hm, da gebe ich ihr wohl auch nochmal eine Chance. Das Debut fand ich nicht so dolle.

stefane King Hannah – I’m Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me **** Tolles Debütalbum! Ein Duo aus Liverpool, das aber einen sehr amerikanischen Sound hat: dunkel, psychedelisch, geheimnisvoll und unterschwellig bedrohlich und unheilvoll. Mazzy Star, Cowboy Junkies, Portishead, P J Harvey und ganz stark die von mir sehr geschätzten She Keeps Bees schimmern durch.
Im Rahmen des Instore Gigs im Dussmann gab es noch ein kurzes Interview mit den beiden. Hier benannten sie Portishead und PJ Harvey als die beiden wesentlichen Einflüsse. Darüber hinaus noch Smog, Red House Painters und Neil Young.
