samMir ist gerade mal wieder aufgefallen, wie gut mir dein Einleitungstrack gefällt, Flurin.
Immer schon mal ein kleiner Highlight vorweg
Das freut mich zu hören, mich beschlich nämlich gerade der Gedanke, dass ich das Intro allmählich gehört habe … aber ich bin ja auch jedes Mal dabei
(Kommt übrigens von Ulrich Gumpert, eine Petitesse, die mal für eine Bühnenmusik entstand).Witzig, das passt ja sehr gut, wo ich für Gumpert sehr viel übrig habe.

Ich habe soeben die zweite Staffel von „Hip Hop Evolution“ zu Ende geschaut, und dass Lee Morgan da namentlich genannt wird, als es um die Freiräume in der Musik geht, die auch in der Hip Hop-Ära, aber eben nicht mehr mit (teuren, nicht verfügbaren) Instrumenten, aufgetan werden mussten, um überhaupt als Künstler zu überleben … dass da ausgerechnet Morgan genannt wird, ist sicherlich kein Zufall!

Aber der gespielte Stoff ist viel zu gut, um sich auf Zahlen konzentrieren zu können. Ganz feiner Sendungsstart, Flurin!

Lee Morgan war mir bisher ja hauptsächlich als Sideman von anderen Musiker, etwa Art Blakey (Moanin‘) oder John Coltrane (Blue Train) her bekannt. Das gespielte Solostück gefiel mir aber recht gut.

A propos Freiräume … wenn ich dieses Posaunensolo höre, kommt mir wieder meine einst hier im Forum geäusserte, steile These in den Sinn, dass es in der Swing-Ära bzw. in den Prä-Bop-Stilen mehr Raum für individuellen Ausduck in Sachen Tongestaltung gab … Dickie Wells, forgotten giant.

"Kunst ist schön, macht aber viel Arbeit" (K. Valentin)samLee Morgan war mir bisher ja hauptsächlich als Sideman von anderen Musiker, etwa Art Blakey (Moanin‘) oder John Coltrane (Blue Train) her bekannt. Das gespielte Solostück gefiel mir aber recht gut.
Da hast Du noch einiges Gutes vor Dir. Die meisten der Blue-Note-Aufnahmen finde ich ganz hervorragend.
