Cal Tjader – Tjader Plays Mambo (1954/1956)
Nach dem Besuch am Badesee lässt sich das auf dem heimischen Balkon gut hören. Hört sich nicht nur in Miami, Spanish Harlem oder Kalifornien gut an, sondern auch in Nordostdeutschland.
Der Titel Plays Mambo ist etwas irreführend, denn diese Platte bietet keineswegs nur Ramba-Zamba, sondern klingt oft eher leicht, entspannt und elegant. In den credits tauchen solch exotisch klingende Namen wie Manuel und Carlos Duran, Bayardo Velarde, Edgar Rosales oder Luis Miranda auf. Ich kenne nicht einen davon. Aber sie spielen toll!
