IrrlichtMir gefällt beides: Song und Video.
Ich halte das nicht aus. Aber es tröstet mich, dass die ganze Sache nur Marketing ist und mit Musik eigentlich gar nichts zu tun hat. Das ganz Brimborium, der Sex, die Drogen, die Skandale, die Überzeichnungen lenken auf sehr geschickte Weise davon ab, dass der Inhalt eigentlich überhaupt nicht vorhanden oder komplett albern, belanglos oder lächerlich ist. Ein Triumph – aber kein musikalischer.
Jan_JanIch finde das Video nicht besonders toll, aber es hat mich dran erinnert, mal wieder in das Album zu hören, was ich aufgrund der Länge noch garnicht komplett bewusst gehört habe.
Ich vermute, dass nur ganz wenige Menschen das Album häufiger als einmal gehört haben.
Da ich sie gerade gefunden habe, schöne Kritik von RYM:
So why did I check this out? The Flaming Lips, obviously. Miley is just the worst of everything mixed together. She isn’t a very good singer, she sounds like she is struggling to hit some notes, she is an awful songwriter only really focusing on sex, weed and teen angst and on top of that most of Miley’s lyrics are just really fucking annoying. Some actually made me cringe.
So basically unless your an antisocial teen, you will hate Miley.
So What about The Flaming Lips and the rest of the production crew? Surely they saved this 90 minute mess, right? Nope, it’s actually some of The Lips worst music. it’s an atmospheric Psych-Pop sound that doesn’t really do anything for me, most of the productions get pretty boring after awhile and don’t have the layers of complexity and experimental nature The Lips are known for. It all ends up sounding bland and forgettable.
So be prepared for bland dreamy, creamy, bubblegum flavored productions with one of modern pop music’s worst singers.
