Während meines Australien-Urlaubes habe ich noch ein ausgesprochen interessantes Interview mit ihm im Rolling Stone Australien gelesen. Hier ein Auszug:
Frage an Tex Perkins: „The last time I swore at the telly“
“Every time I see our Prime Minister, Tony Abbott. The Conservative side of politics has had some cold-hearted tiny-minded arseholes over the years, but there’s never been anyone like our Tony. The swear words are usually euphemisms for some kind of genitalia, ending in „unt” or „rick”. I feel physically violated whenever I see him, as if someone has squirted vinegar in my eyes. Hate is not a strong enough word. “
Tja, solche radikalen Aussagen zur Politik würde ich mir auch mal von deutschen Musikern/Künstlern wünschen…okay, eine gab es mal vor vielen Jahren von Herbert Grönemeyer in den Tagesthemen (zum G8-Gipfel).
