sugarstems.comMilwaukee outfit Sugar Stems mix bubblegum and power pop in their indie rock stylings. Influenced by the Go-Go’s, Elastica, and the Pretenders, as well as ’60s girl groups, singer/guitarist Betsy (of the Flips), guitarist Drew (of Jetty Boys), bassist Stephanie, and drummer Jon recorded their debut album, Sweet Sounds of the Sugar Stems, in 2010. The album was followed by Can’t Wait, which was recorded in Bobby Peru Studio in 2012 and released on Dirtnap Records in 2013.
