Agree on Vincent Price as a bad closer, but oth in case you don’t like it press stop or rewind and ignore it. I think that may be the reason why they placed it there. It reminds me totally of the Ezrin stuff on School’s Out, that long varietee musical stuff. The good thing is you get a simple but not bad rocker after it on the german version I got, which takes the album to over 1 hour. The time flies when i hear that record and I love the deepness in the arrangements. It can stand dozens of plays and you still discover new aspects and details. True the instruments do not sound very natural, it got that proggy touch and takes snippets from all the right acts or albums Bob Ezrin worked with.
You guys should visit the DeepPurple-NowWhat? web site for some cool infos and hear what the band says about the production.

The stuff was made up from long sessions in the studio and Bob took the pieces he liked to make a pre.production The whole stuff was actually played live in the studio..(hence the additional keys + guitars , percussions + effects on a few tunes). For the band it was fun and the fastest production they did since the early days, when they had the stuff already arranged and ready from touring. Anyway – it has Bob Ezrin stamped all over, he did the choices, which take was used and how it was mixed. The group likes it, most listeners are thrilled. Bob Ezrin succeeded in improving the performance of Ian Gillan’s vocals and how the guitars from Steve Morse fit better in the band context but the real star here is Don Airey. He fires on all cylinders plus the core bass + drums are crazy cooking up marvellous beats. i think there is not a wasted minute here but I can also see why some may not like it.
Definitely a massive album, that bring Purple back into the limelght. They are at number 2 in germanys album charts already!
BTW Peter Frampton will be the special Guest on the german leg of the world tour !
