tolomoquinkolomFahrten mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln sind als mentale Kreativzonen eben nicht zu unterschätzen. Und Roxy Music – zumindest die beiden ersten Alben – stehen für mich nicht unter Retro-Music-Verdacht.
Ein Hoch auf den ÖPNV!
Retro fängt bei der ersten Roxy Music ja schon an, bevor man die Platte überhaupt aus dem Cover gezogen hat: Vorne drauf ein 50s Pin Up und die Bandmitglieder sehen mit ihren schmierigen Haartollen, Lederjacken oder Leopardenfellhemden aus wie die Karikatur einer Rockband. Noch mal Andy Mackay: „We certainly didn’t invent eclecticism but we did say and prove that rock ’n‘ roll could accommodate – well, anything really.“
