Die Russell ist für mich eher eine etwas disparate Ansammlung grosser Momente als ein wirklich gelungenes Album … aber misse möchte ich aus seinem ersten Jahrzehnt oder so (Jazz Workshop bis MPS) sowieso nichts!
Hier, seit etwas über einer Stunde:
Zwiespältig bisher … CD 2 packt mich mehr, den letzten Track auf CD 1 mit Gesang fand ich antiklimaktisch (passte aber, da ich eh grad in die Küche musste und den Müll rausbringen). CD 2 ist allerdings Coltrane-Musik, während CD 1 sich eher ins grosse Post-Coltrane-Kontinuum einfügt (McCoy Tyner w/strings und was weiss ich). „Leroy and Lanisha“ ist wohl mein bisheriges Highlight.
