ClauOkay, ertappt, ich kenne natürlich nicht alle. „5 By Monk By 5“ ist meiner Ansicht nach besser als: „Brilliant Corners“, „Monk’s Music“, „In Action“, „Misterioso“, „At The Black Hawk“, „With John Coltrane“, „Criss-Cross“, „Straigh,t No Chaser“ und „Monk/Coltrane at Carnegie Hall“.
Das ist verblüffend (v.a. im Hinblick auf das Carnegie Hall-Konzert mit Coltrane, das ich für eine Sternstunde halte) – aber die Geschmäcker sollen ja verschieden sein, das ist schon gut!
Hier, zur Nacht:
Mal schauen, ob ich in ein paar Tagen (oder Wochen eher) einen Sterne-Thread hinkriege. Das Debut-Album ist mir etwas zu harmlos, zuviele Standards, zuwenig Blues. Nichts falsch daran, aber mein liebstes wird es nie werden.
