Stanley Turrentine – Never Let Me Go (1963)
Noch mal Orgel Jazz. Stanley Turrentine wird hier von seiner damaligen Ehefrau an der Hammond begleitet. Die Hammond ist daher hier natürlich nicht so dominierend aber gibt doch deutlich ihre Würze mit dazu. Stanley Turrentine ist jedenfalls in Hochform und er und Shirley Scott ergänzen sich hier ganz wunderbar. Eine sehr gute Soul Jazz-Platte die sowohl grooved als auch schöne Balladen enthält – neben dem Titelstück auch ein tolle Aufnahme von God Bless The Child.
