soulpope“You and the Night and The Music“ ist aus meiner Sicht (und ich bin bekanntlich ein großer Waldron Freund) ziemlich verzichtbar, die Waldronsche Dekonstruktion von „Suicide is Painless“ bzw „Beat It“ auf „Breaking New Ground“ find ich jedoch (er)hörenswert……im Olymp seines Schaffens stehen beide Platten sicher nicht….aus der Troika dieser Aufnahmesessionsfür Baybridge fand ich „Waldron Plays Satie“ am interessantesten…
Das Satie-Stück ist auf „Breaking New Ground“ neben „Suicide Is Painless“ auf jeden Fall ganz eindeutig das beste. Aber ja, alle drei sind nicht wahnsinnig gut, aber nach „Ground“ empfand ich „You and the Night“ als äusserst erbaulich. Ich mag zudem ein paar der enthaltenen Stücke sehr gerne (darunter das Titelstück), daher ist die Scheibe für mich doch deutlich besser als „Ground“, die ziemlich nah an ein Grounding kommt, wenn ich mal etwas kalauern darf.
